It Is What It Is

I want to see more like this.

Jewish leaders object to Nazi imagery at rallies
Protesters have compared Israeli soldiers to German troops

JERUSALEM - The use of Nazi imagery at recent anti-Israel demonstrations across Europe has fanned the flames of anti-Semitism and incited violence against Jews, the head of Israel's Holocaust memorial said Monday.

Protests against Israel's Gaza offensive have included signs and slogans comparing Israeli soldiers to German troops, the Gaza Strip to the Auschwitz death camp and the Jewish Star of David to the Nazi swastika.

The protests have come amid a dramatic increase in anti-Semitic acts, including attacks on synagogues, beatings of pro-Israel demonstrators and proposed boycotts of Jewish businesses, according to the U.S.-based Anti-Defamation League.

Caturday with Me, Myself and I

What if I had three Zoeys? How crazy a world would I live in. Three of the same cat, three times the work to keep her furs looking good. And when she's bad? Would all three be bad at the same time? Oh my. Think I'll stick with what God gave me.

Life in a Bottle

Well in this case maybe more than one.

I Leave You With This Good Thought

Weakly Cartoon

More Inauguration Coverage.

Direct from Rome . . . How Say You Tacitus?

"The destruction of private wealth precipitated the fall of rank and reputation, till at last the emperor interposed his aid by distributing throughout the banks a hundred million sesterces, and allowing freedom to borrow without interest for three years, provided the borrower gave security to the State in land to double the amount. Credit was thus restored, and gradually private lenders were found."

CQ reports that Chip Saltsman — who became notorious for mailing out the “Barack the Magic Negro” CD as a Christmas present to friends — will not be on the ballot for chair of the Republican National Committee because he was “unable to cobble together the six supporters necessary for nomination. The deadline for Saltsman to come up with two nominators from each of three states was 5 p.m.” The remaining five candidates are current chairman Mike Duncan, former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele, former Ohio Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell, South Carolina Chairman Katon Dawson, and Michigan Chairman Saul Anuzis.

Birds in a Jar?

What a wonderful imagination. But what were the birds doing in the jar in the first place? Huzzah!

Glad We Got That Straightened Out

Dear Mrs. Jones,
I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer. I work at Home Depot and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot.
From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in.
Sincerely,
Mrs.Smith

Guess We Start Flying Southwest Airlines

A mother and her 5 year old son were flying Southwest Airlines from Kansas City to Chicago. The son (who had been looking out the window) turned to his mother and asked. “If big dogs have baby dogs and big cats have baby cats, why don’t big planes have baby plane?” The mother, who couldn’t think of an answer, told her son to ask the stewardees. So the boy walks to the galley and asks the stewardees, ““If big dogs have baby dogs and big cats have baby cats, why don’t big planes have baby plane?”
The stewardees responded, “Did your mother tell you to ask me?” The boy said, “Yes, she did……. “Well, then, tell your mother that there are no baby planes because Southwest always pulls out on time. Have your mother explain that to you..”

Israelis Target Animals in the Zoo

"This camel was pregnant, a missile went into her back," he tells us. "Look, look at her face. She was in pain when she died."
Around every corner, inside almost every cage are dead animals, who have been lying in their cages since the Israeli incursion.Qasim doesn't understand why they chose to destroy his zoo. And it's difficult to disagree with him. Most of them have been shot at point blank range"

Elastic Birds

Here's a creative shot. Reminds me of the old sepia tone prints we used to experiment with in my College days years ago.

Space Lady

Tell me did the wind sweep you off your feet
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back to the milky way
And tell me, did venus blow your mind
Was it everything you wanted to find
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there

Yummy!

Two Images with Similar Themes

Odd how both these images came to me overnight by email. I wonder how a person in Australia and one in Florida knew to work up something with the same theme, at the same time. Top photoshopped image is Zoey in a tree. Below artwork found on the net entitled "the eyes have it" no mention of the artist. If anyone knows leave a comment and I'll post a credit.

Motion Picture Fund Shuts Down Nursing Home

Says they've lost $10 Million
a year for the past three years.
Oh really.
~
As all of Hollywood gears up for the uber-expensive glitter of the Academy Awards, plus the oh so fancy pre- and post- parties, 100 aging entertainment industry veterans face eviction as the Motion Picture & Television Fund long-term care nursing home and the acute-care hospital close down over the next few months. The closure will also cost 290 employees their jobs, representing roughly a third of all MPTF’s hourly workers and a third of its managerial staff.
Thursday residents who were able to leave their rooms, some in wheelchairs, joined nurses in scrubs and family members at a union organized rally outside the hospital located in Woodland Hills.

Sunday Morning

"Siddhartha had often heard all of this before,
all these numerous voices in the river,
but today they sounded different.
They all belonged to each other:
the lament of those who yearn,
the laughter of the wise,
the cry of indication
and the groan of dying
and all the voices,
all the goals,
all the pleasures,
all the good and evil,
all of them together was the world"
