Sunday Morning

Native American Prayer
Oh, Great Spirit
Whose voice I hear in the winds,
And whose breath gives life to all the world,
hear me, I am small and weak,
I need your strength and wisdom.
Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold
the red and purple sunset.
~
Make my hands respect the things you have
made and my ears sharp to hear your voice.
Make me wise so that I may understand the things
you have taught my people.
Let me learn the lessons you have
hidden in every leaf and rock.
~
I seek strength, not to be greater than my brother,
but to fight my greatest enemy - myself.
Make me always ready to come to you
with clean hands and straight eyes.
So when life fades, as the fading sunset,
my Spirit may come to you without shame.
~

This image is either a set for a movie or a for real place used in a movie. I can't remember the movie I saw it in but this is definitely Hollywood.

OK Here's the Deal . . .

"Who wants to help me move in the grand piano"?

Killed 7 Year Old Boy

Where's the outrage? Where's the psycho babble on guns don't kill people from the NRA? This family stopped on a major highway so the kids could relieve themselves and the low lifes in the photo above shot them.

Gayle and Sheila Muhs gave trespassers a blunt warning. They posted a large sign outside their Texas home saying trespassers would be shot and survivors would be shot again. They weren’t joking.

The Muhs are currently being held on charges of aggravated assault for allegedly firing at least two shotgun blasts at a pair of packed cars that stopped outside their rural Texas house. Those charges are expected to be upgraded to murder, since a 7-year-old boy who was wounded in the assault has died from shotgun pellets to his head and face.

But police said the families in the two cars were driving on a public road when the Muhs opened fire from their house, killing Donald Coffey Jr. and hitting three others, including the boy’s 5-year-old sister.

Outside the Muhs’ house is a handpainted sign complete with misspelling and exclamation points that warns: “Trespassers Will Be Shot. Survivers Will Be Reshot!! Smile I Will.”

Liberty County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Ken DeFoor told ABCNews.com today that the shooting was the most “violent reaction to something so blatantly, blatantly minor” he’s ever seen.

Aaahhh the Good Ole Days

We had a diner like this in our town when I grew up. I am struggling to remember its' name but it had D-I-N-E-R in the center, over the top of the trailer like abode. Abode yes, it was where we went after class, home to the hot fudge sundae. By the way, that's my old Porsche in the picture . . . the red car. ha ha ha. I just remembered the name "Watson's Diner" on U.S. 1! YAY

Help Us ~ Help Them

We hope our friends will stop by at
Romeo's this week ~
leave a word or two in support of the
Space Coast Feline Network. Thanks!

The Space Coast Feline Network formally began the day before New Year's 1996 at Kennedy Space Center with the rescue of Mr. No Ears, a beat up old tomcat who had lost both of his ears from years of fighting. Within the first three years, more than 100 cats and kittens were rescued at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The origin of these feral cats has been traced many years back to before the commencement of the Space Shuttle program. Based upon extensive research of successful feral cat management in various communities in the United States, Space Coast Feline Network took a different approach. Club members began by successfully finding homes for all of the kittens rescued at KSC, and by caring for the feral adults, who were given living quarters at a temporary site on KSC property. These cats were spayed/neutered and vaccinated. Of the original 100 cats/kittens trapped, 49 were adopted, 21 housed at the site, and the rest fostered by volunteers. Only a few had to be euthanized due to illness or injuries. Space Coast Feline Network has since expanded it's scope to include feral cats within Brevard County, with many volunteers giving time and money to care for, sterilize and vaccinate feral cats colonies in Brevard. The above information is from the Space Coast Feline Network website. To learn more, just click on this link: http://www.scfntnr.org/

Baby It's Cold Outside!

Tonight the Zoey and Me turn the reigns of this famous blog over to the people who remind us each year to support our feral family here on the Space Coast. If you like the ads and want to click on the links to learn more about how you can help these feral felines who are ancestors to the kitties who roamed our woods in the early days of the Kennedy Space Center check out Maggy and Zoey's ad as they introduce you to the organizer Romeo. Have fun and I'll see you back here with the ZoZo girl on Thursday. xxxooo

It's Funny When You Think About It

Handling or even contemplating money can relieve both physical pain and the distress of social rejection, according to a study by Chinese and American psychologists. But remembering cash one has spent intensifies both types of hurt.
The findings suggest that the mere thought of having money makes people feel physically stronger and less dependent on the approval of others to satisfy their needs. "Money activates a general sense of confidence, strength, and efficacy," the researchers propose.

Sunday Morning

A good man was granted one wish by God.
The man said he would like to go about doing good
without knowing about it.
God granted his wish.
And then God decided that it was such a good idea,
he would grant that wish to all human beings. And so it has been to this day.
~ Sufi story, according to Dale Paulus
