Sounds Like it To Me

Say that again!

They Just Announced the Recession Finally Over

Does anyone really feel it yet?

Well, Now We Know . . .

I would have figured it had something to do with who was carrying the more heavier load.

Oh I'm Sure This One's Going to Someone's Head

Mine maybe.

Such Appeal

These old posters say so much to me. Very impressive.

Is This What the Tea Party Wants?

I Pledge Allegiance to the Rich
And the United States of Wall Street
And to the Plutocracy for which it stands
One Nation, under Greed
Extremely Divisible
With Wealth Reserved for the Few

Wet Flamingo

Can't get any wetter than we are. Now flood warnings here in effect till five pm today and Tornado warnings are out for west Brevard County a few miles down the street from where we live. Should be a fun day to live in Florida.

Another Plug for Corporate America

Wished they'd ship themselves overseas.

And You Cannot Beat the Price

Rince with soda? Whatdya drink the stuff first thing in the morning? These folks built America, keep that in mind. OMG $1 a pop. Then chase it with soda. I bet all their mornings were good.

George Blanda 1927-2010

Matty Boy grew up in the Bay Area and files this report of one of Footballs greatest players.  It's a really good read.

George Blanda has died at the age of 83. He was a quarterback and kicker. When he retired after 26 seasons of football in the 1970s, he held many records, including most points scored and most interceptions thrown. The only record that is still his is most seasons played.

Magic Moment

See top banner. Zoey as she was a few weeks old. Now look at this gracious little ball of fur with her toof in all it's glory. Wonderful photo of our little lady relaxing. She just looks adorable! Thanks Annie. I couldn't hold this one over to Caturday. It's just too good!

Philosophy

Religioust Zealots have learned how to hype their "good news" on TV, that's for sure.

When I Retire

I want a window view that looks like this one.

I Wish Grayson Was in My District

Mr Classy runs a Classy Campaign.  And it's true!  Watch the vid yourself and see.

Alan Grayson really wants to keep his House seat in Florida, which means he has a new ad out saying his opponent is a member of the Taliban. That’s fun! That is a fun way to disagree with your opponent on the issues! The Islamicists are coming to central Florida, and they are going to impose their Sharia on the Mickey Mouse and the Orlando Magic.

Run the YouTube and see the entire Ad . . . It's Really a Good One!

Gently but To the Point

Will somebody wake the hell up?

Well, It's Off to Work We Go!

Going to work like this would make thoughts of retirement come easy. I suppose my load today isn't anywhere near what this poor old guy has to haul to the city. I'm lucky I have a car and if that breaks down, friends who could drive me. Hauling all my goods in a napkin just wouldn't work. Suppose it rained. Well I do admire him and wish him well. I hope everyone has a wonderful Fall week and enjoy the breezy weather.

Well then Turn on the Lights

A Last Look at Summer

Too windy to play there today!

Time To Keep Those Critters Warm Up North

This might be going a tad overboard.

Old Books

I had poetry books bound together with ribbon years ago, before College. This combination reminds me of them. My Uncle bought them for me for Christmas the year I went off to college. It meant something significant to him and he took pleasure giving it as a gift. He never went to school, even elementary school, but he had an appreciation for those who did.

Sunday Morning

Litany

You are the bread and the knife,
the crystal goblet and the wine.
You are the dew on the morning grass
and the burning wheel of the sun.
You are the white apron of the baker,
and the marsh birds suddenly in flight.

However, you are not the wind in the orchard,
the plums on the counter,
or the house of cards.
And you are certainly not the pine-scented air.
There is just no way that you are the pine-scented air.

It is possible that you are the fish under the bridge,
maybe even the pigeon on the general's head,
but you are not even close
to being the field of cornflowers at dusk.

And a quick look in the mirror will show
that you are neither the boots in the corner
nor the boat asleep in its boathouse.

It might interest you to know,
speaking of the plentiful imagery of the world,
that I am the sound of rain on the roof.

I also happen to be the shooting star,
the evening paper blowing down an alley
and the basket of chestnuts on the kitchen table.

I am also the moon in the trees
and the blind woman's tea cup.
But don't worry, I'm not the bread and the knife.
You are still the bread and the knife.
You will always be the bread and the knife,
not to mention the crystal goblet and--somehow--the wine.

Well That's One Way to Put it.

I am too.

T G I F

Our TGIF model looks like the water is too cold to swim in today. She probably took her last real swim a week ago. The water is appealing though. Reminds me of a creek up north. But she looks healthy. She looks like she's getting some good exercise. That's something we should all think about this weekend as the Fall weather days will only be here for a few more months. Time to get as much outdoors activity as possible. Hike in the wilderness, bike ride, take a long walk. Do something everyday that is heart healthy. Have a great weekend!

It's a Rainy Day in Florida

Creepy.  Thunder.  Lightening.  a real downpour.

So Why Do People Watch Fox Propaganda?

REP. ALAN GRAYSON, D-FLA.: One of the fundamental problems is Fox, OK? Fox has turned into Monty Python's lying circus. All day long they spew lies out time after time, day after day. And they have created this bubble of irreality around the people who listen to them, and it's a threat to this country.
FORMER PRESIDENT JIMMY CARTER: Things have gone downhill, I think, in the last few years with the polarization of our country, with the evolution of a new kind of politics, with the birth of Fox News that now distorts everything rather than tells the truth.
RICK SANCHEZ, HOST, CNN's "RICK'S LIST": And then there is Fox News, which is essentially the voice of the Republican Party, whose job it is to make this man look bad no matter what he does.

The man is President Obama.
